Privacy Policy

Last updated June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Clous collects when you use our website, dashboard, and API, how we use it, and the choices you have. The market data Clous serves comes from public SEC filings — this policy is about your personal information as a customer, not the filing data itself.

01Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email, organization, and authentication identifiers, handled through our auth provider (Clerk).
  • Billing information — plan, credit balance, and transaction records. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage data — API requests (endpoint, timestamp, status, credits charged), IP address, and basic device/browser information, used for metering, security, and debugging.
  • Communications — messages you send us (e.g. support email).

02How we use information

  • Provide, meter, and secure the Service, and authenticate your requests.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Operate, debug, and improve the Service and develop new features.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and — if you opt in — product updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

03How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers / subprocessors that run the Service on our behalf — including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (web hosting), and our cloud infrastructure provider — under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Clous, our users, or the public.
  • A successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.

04Retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Usage logs are retained for a limited period for security and operations, then deleted or aggregated.

05Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, scoped API keys, access controls, and tenant isolation — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to security@clous.ai.

06Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@clous.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

07Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the dashboard. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

08International transfers and children

  • We may process information in countries other than where you live; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
  • The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

09Changes and contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Questions or requests? Email privacy@clous.ai.
